A handsome and very wearable Normana Chronomètre in stainless steel, dating from the 1940s. The clean Calatrava lines and the military-inspired layout make it look right at home on the wrist.
Dial: The dial is the highlight of this watch. It is a two-tone sector dial in silver and champagne, with a railway minute track. The Arabic numerals at 2, 4, 5, 8, 10 and 12 are alternated with printed baton markers. It is signed “Chronomètre NORMANA” and has a sunken subsidiary seconds register at 4 o’clock with a concentric guilloché pattern. The blued steel hands match the dial. The dial has a natural, honest patina and is fully original, with no signs of restoration.
Case: The case is all stainless steel, with a coin-edge (fluted) caseback and a fluted crown. The caseback is stamped “ACIER STAYBRITE” and carries the Normana logo. The case is solid and well proportioned, with sharp lines and no heavy polishing. The inside of the caseback is numbered 74172 / 22.
Movement: The movement is a manually wound Swiss calibre signed Normana, with jewels and a regulator, and a finely striped finish on the bridges. It is running well, although notrecently serviced.
Strap: The watch comes on a navy blue lizard strap with a steel buckle.

Un elegante Normana Chronomètre in acciaio inox, anni ‘40. Le linee pulite da Calatrava e l’impostazione di ispirazione militare gli danno un aspetto sobrio e senza tempo.
Quadrante: È il vero punto di forza. Quadrante bicolore a settori, argento e champagne, con chemin de fer. I numeri arabi alle 2, 4, 5, 8, 10 e 12 si alternano a indici a bastone stampati. Firmato “Chronomètre NORMANA”, con piccoli secondi incassati alle 4 e decorazione a cerchi concentrici. Lancette in acciaio brunito in tinta. Presenta una patina naturale e onesta, completamente originale e mai ritoccato.
Cassa: Cassa tutta in acciaio inox, con fondello coin edge (zigrinato) e corona zigrinata. Sul fondello è punzonato “ACIER STAYBRITE” insieme al logo Normana. La cassa è solida e ben proporzionata, con linee nitide e senza lucidature pesanti. All’interno del fondello è riportata la numerazione 74172 / 22.
Movimento: Calibro svizzero a carica manuale firmato Normana, con rubini e regolatore, bilanciere e ponti con finitura a strisce. Funziona regolarmente. [Aggiungi: revisionato di recente? precisione? garanzia?]
